sunday’s have become a very popular writing day for me of late.  mainly because there aren’t enough hours during the week, but
also because us songwriters plug away any chance we get.  after my meeting with sony, they had set me up with some writing,
mainly for their artist tyler shaw.  this talented kid won the coca-cola cover’s project, which laneded him with a deal at sony, and
now has the #5 song in the country.  both of us being city folk with no car, so we met up at bathurst station and took a relexing ttc
bus up to north york to meet up with producer matt tishler and we wrote a jem about being a superhero.

i spent the last 4 days/nights working with the extremely talented – international phenom raghav, along with one of toronto’s  finest
veteran producers craig mcconnell.  we turned out three amazing songs – all so different, all so good.

today was the first day of my third term with my publisher vince degiorgio.  vince has worked with everyone from nsync to christina
aguilera and more recently with caro emerald.  from day one i know i was in good hands with vince and has become one of my
biggest mentor’s and friends.  big year ahead, very excited.

had another wonderful meeting with my publisher and the a&r execs at sony.  the focus of the meeting was to talk about future
opportunities with a show i previously worked on and to set up sessions with some of their talented artist roaster.  all good vibes.

if you ask anyone who knows me, they will tell you that i love to travel.  i was very lucky to have visited 5 countries, and 7 amazing
cities last year.  some was for work, but most of it was just for fun.   my latest trip was to south beach in miami with a couple of my
girlfriends. i knew that i had a big year ahead of me and might not get the chance to travel for leisure for a little while so i took
advantage. had some amazing meals, partied with celebrities (randomly) and good times all around were had.

sometimes in life you realize change is coming – and that change would come in the form of singing lessons, something i haven’t
done in years.   i recently joined a project as a lead singer, and quickly realized that my voice was so out of shape so i had to take
some action.  luckily i found a great teacher by the name of ryan luchuck, i got back right on track and continue to see improvements.

for most of december i took it easy.  had dinner’s with friends, spent a lot of time with my family, got invited to a couple of pretty cool
holiday parties and got to do one of my favourite things in this city around this time which is to walk around the christmas market in
our distilleries district (picture above).  its the perfect thing to do to get you into the holiday spirit, especially when it hasn’t started to
snow. at some points during this month i felt like i was doing too many social things and not enough writing and being creative,
but sometimes your passions can be all consuming so its nice to be able to take a break and spend quality time with your friends,
family and those who matter to you most.

my publisher and i headed over to the universal music offices today.  we had a meeting with the director of a&r for the urban
division who in addition to his many accomplishments (working with drake/eminem) was the nicest guy you could meet.
glad to have walked away from that meeting with a ton of opportunities.  more to come on this front.

the toronto premiere of universal pictures movie ‘american mary’ directed by the soska sisters took place last night and wow
was it good.  excited that i had a placement in this movie, i immediately wanted to get a group of my friends to check the movie
out and exactly where they placed my song.  it was in the perfect scene.

i love getting inspiration from going to see acts live.  i don’t get to do it often because i tend to stay away from crowds and the
noise levels (need to protect my ears!), but i did check out a couple that were amazing. i got to see: the weekend,
kelly clarkson, the frey, chromeo and drake (ovo).
